How a blog can generate business

A few years ago when blogs became trendy, there were more blogs being written than were being read. Millions of people were creating blogging accounts and writing about anything and everything that happened to them during the day.

Despite the triviality of many of these personal blogs, a blog on your business’s website can be an extremely effective way of generating new business by pulling in new customers, strengthening relations with existing customers, and improving your site’s search rankings.

(In case you’re still wondering what a blog actually is, it’s an online log or journal – essentially a regular series of articles or posts.) Blogs are a simple way of updating your site’s content regularly. By writing regular articles which are relevant to your business you will:

• Provide visitors with an insight into your business which they may not get on your competitors’ sites

• Encourage existing clients to return to your site

• Demonstrate to search engines that your content is up to date

Keep the content relevant and brief, never write posts just for the sake of it, but ensure you are disciplined enough to write posts regularly. It will pay dividends.
